Today is an exciting day for me because I officially became a team member for Days for Girls International in the 2016 Revlon LOVE IS ON Challenge. To be honest, it wasn't that hard, so I encourage you to become a team member too!

Here's what you do: Go to the Revlon LOVE IS ON Challenge website and select your favorite charity. Once you do that, you have the option of creating a Crowdrise fundraising page where you can promote your charity and ask friends, family and local businesses to contribute to your favorite charity in your name. Simple, right?

So, as this blog post implies, I selected Days for Girls, International, to serve as a team member because millions of girls around the world are not properly educated and drop out of school because they don't have a way to handle their monthly menstrual cycles. I know that's hard to believe. I mean heck, it's so simple for girls like us who live in America. Our moms go shopping and BAM - nothing to think about except making sure we don't wear white pants :@).

Unfortunately, in many countries, girls don't have it that easy. There are no maxi pads or tampons - no stores in which to purchase them - no money - no clean water - NO SOLUTION! The monthly period is considered unclean and girls are forced to sit and sleep on things like cardboard boxes until they are "clean" again. Some girls report having to trade sexual favors to acquire basic necessities if they want to stay in school during their menses. That's why I've decided to help raise money for Days for Girls International. Days for Girls provides a sustainable solution to help girls stay in school.

Since 2008, Days for Girls has provided kits that include panties and reusable cloth pads to over 400,000 women and girls in over 100 countries. But, there are millions more who still don't have what they need. So, I need your help so we can change their lives and help them stay in school!

I am representing Sienna Plantation in Fort Bend County, TX by competing with other US based girls to raise money for Days for Girls International. Winning this challenge would be a global game-changer for girls. By making a contribution today, you can create the following impact:

$10 enables one girl to stay in school for 2-4 years

$100 supports 75 Kits for a new community

$250 supports Kits for an entire classroom

$500 supports Kits for a small village

$1,000 introduces Kits in a new country

So take out your pocket books and donate today.
